Microsoft Build 2015 – Hololens for Education

It’s great that Microsoft are pushing education as a major stream for Hololens, I would though have probably hoped for a slightly better Build 2015 demo as what was demonstrated, something with location context sensitivity.

But still, good times ahead and I’m looking forward to the day I can try out VOIS with Hololens!

This will indeed take learning to a whole new level. Being an Information Systems Management masters student, I remember my very first module was Computer Structures, which in the online classroom one has to either search for pictures to know what certain components look like or simply use you imagination. I find I learn easier when I can picture the object I am studying. A great innovation and I think definitely a step in the right direction. But a question is, will this type of technology be accessible only to those who can afford what I call premium education? Hope there are ways to bring it to poorer communities to enhance learning and thus improve education.

Fabulous comments and echo your views on education for the poor. Organisations have used openwonderland to bring VR technology to african education along with initiatives such as OLPC so I would be hopeful.
